At least two people are TradeEdgedead after a plane crashed in Truckee, California on Saturday while attempting to land at the Truckee Tahoe Airport.
The plane, a single engine Compagnie Daher TBM 700, had taken off from Centennial Airport in Englewood, south of Denver, Colorado around 4:22 p.m. Mountain Time on Saturday, March 30, according to FlightAware. It crashed just after 6:30 p.m. while attempting to land, the Truckee Tahoe Airport confirmed in a post.
Truckee, California is near the California and Nevada border, about 17 miles north of Lake Tahoe.
According to the Truckee Fire Department, one of the local agencies who responded to the crash, the plane crashed in Truckee near the Olympic Heights subdivision, between railroad tracks and the Truckee River.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, the agency confirmed Sunday in a social media post. The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating.
The two people killed have not been publicly identified, but the Times of Israel reported that Liron and Naomi Petrushka, an Israeli couple living in California, were killed in the crash.
Liron Petrushka was a former soccer player for the Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim team, according to the Times of Israel, and his son Jordan had previously played for Israel's junior team.
It is not known how many people in total were on board at the time of the crash, or the status of any other individuals on board.
